5 Of The World’s Most Scenic Train Rides
If you’re obsessed about train rides and think it’s one of the best and coziest ways of exploring the World, welcome to my blog! I have loved trains all my life and even after travelling around the World in all kinds of transportation, I still think there’s nothing more satisfying that taking long train rides and watching the World go by outside.
If you’re looking for some amazing train rides to add to your bucket list, here are some that absolutely blew my mind away!
Bergensbanen, Norway
As I’m sure you know, Norway is one of the most beautiful countries in the World, with amazing Nature and so much to explore. That’s why it was no shock to me that one of my absolute favorite train rides of all times took place there.
This iconic train journey is called Bergensbanen and it connects Oslo, the capital of Norway, to Bergen, the second biggest city in the country. It covers more than 400 kms between those two cities and during the nearly 7 hour-long trip, you will get to see some of the most unbelievable sceneries that Norway has to offer. In fact, this train ride is so beautiful that it has been considered one of the most scenic train rides in Europe by Travel + Leisure and many others.

The Canadian, Canada
Taking you all the way from Vancouver to Toronto, this train journey is so special for so many reasons. This is not only one of the World’s most beautiful train rides: it’s also the second longest train ride in the whole World.
Coming 2nd after the Trans-Siberian in Russia, this massive 4 day-long train ride will take you all the way across Canada, covering a total of 4466 kms of small towns, lots of Nature, loads of wilderness and what looks like endless emptiness.
Such a long train ride can sound exhausting and I won’t lie to you: it’s quite the project. But if you’re willing to put up with several days of isolation on a train across the second biggest country in the World, you will be rewarded with some of the most gorgeus views you have ever seen.

Kuranda Scenic Railway, Australia
I’m not sure how many people would agree with me about this, but the truth is that I’ve taken some of most renowned train rides in the World and I think that the Kuranda Scenic Railway can easily compete with them – so I have to include it on this list.
It might be the biggest hidden gem train ride I’ve ever found and I really think it should be on your travel bucket list if you are a train lover!
This train ride is located in Quensland, Northern Australia, in an area that has been described as “the most extraordinary place on Earth” by Sir David Attenborough. I heard that remarkable reputation given to that place by someone who has seen so much of the World as him and I just knew that a train ride through that region would be amazing. It was!
If you ever visit Australia, make sure you include this amazing train ride on your itinerary. Here is everything you need to know about it.
